Bchex released the Secure Volunteer Mobile App to help applicants keep track of their card status in real time.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Installing the Secure Volunteer Mobile App

The app is available in both the Apple App Store and Google's Play Store:

You can also find the app by searching "secure volunteer" in either store:

Setting up your Secure Volunteer Account

You will be shown a welcome screen with step by step instructions:

To continue, you must already have a completed and approved background check from your company.  You may or may not have a Do Good code, this is not always required.

Click "Get Started" to begin:

It is important to enter your legal first and last name, as this is how Bchex locates and validates your card.  You may enter a preferred Nickname in the box under the legal name.

It is also important to enter the same email address in the app as you used when submitting your application so that Bchex can confirm and validate your card.

On the next page you will be asked to confirm your Date of Birth, mobile phone number and last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.

Again, it is important to provide accurate information so Bchex can validate your card.

Choose a secure password for your account.

To validate your email address, Bchex will send a code to your email.  You should receive the email within 30 seconds, but you will be given an opportunity to resend the email if you have not received it by then.  Please remember to check your spam folder!

Choose a photograph to use for your account, which will be displayed on your card.  Only a photo containing the image of a face will be accepted.  Click "Tap To Upload" to choose a photo, or take a new photo.

Once everything is verified, your card will be displayed on the home screen!

Add a Card

If you have other cards you want to add that are not appearing automatically, or you have applied elsewhere and would like to add that card, you may use the Find Card function.

View an Expired Card

If you have an expired card, you can view it in the Archived section.

Account Settings

In the account settings you may change your account information.  Please note that if you do so, you may invalidate a card you have if the new information entered does not match.

You can also setup Biometric or 2-Factor Authentication.  Biometric will allow you to use your fingerprint or face scan functions to sign in quickly.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot locate your card, please check your account information to ensure that everything matches what you entered during the application process.

You do not receive a card if your organization has not approved your background check yet.  If your background check is complete, and you are not able to view the card, your organization may not have reviewed your background check results yet.  You will be notified by email when your organization approves you.
