What is the ID Scan?

The ID Scan is a quick identity verification step that helps you enter your information accurately during the background check process. It uses your phone’s camera to scan your ID and automatically fill in key details like your name and date of birth.

This step helps prevent delays caused by typos or incorrect information.

Why do I need to complete the ID Scan?

The ID Scan helps:

  • Reduce errors caused by manual typing

  • Prevent delays in your background check

  • Ensure your information matches your government-issued ID

  • Improve security and prevent fraud

What types of ID can I use?

You can scan any of the following:

  • Driver’s License

  • State-Issued ID

  • Passport / Passport Card

How do I start the ID Scan?

Depending on the device you're using, you may be sent to the ID Scan in one of two ways:

If you’re using a computer:

You may see a QR code to scan using your phone.

If you’re using a phone:

You may see a button that says something like “Start ID Scan” or “Verify Identity”.

The scan is completed on your phone, and then you’ll return to the original form afterward.
