About Applicant Express
- This option allows you to send an invitation to the applicant to fill out their own information for the background check.
- Included in this option is a digitally signed authorization form that the applicant will fill out during the process. You will no longer need to collect a paper signed authorization form.
- You will only need the name and email address of the applicant to place the order.
Creating an Applicant Express Request
- Click on New Orders>Background Check Orders. (This feature currently is only available with background check orders, and not managed services.)
- Choose your Search Option first, then you should see the Applicant Express option appear below.
- Fill out the applicant’s information in the name and email address fields.
- You may choose to send a copy of the email to yourself as well.
- Choose “Email from Applicant Express” if you wish the email to come from BIB.
- You can also choose to have the email be sent from your own email program.
- A sample of the email sent to the applicant will appear on the left.
- You can edit this as you wish, but do not edit the credentials!
- Please send a request to clientservices@bib.com if you would like to permanently change the default email message.
- Click Submit at the bottom to send the request to the applicant.
Checking the Status
- Once you have completed the request, you can check the status by using the Left Navigation panel to go to Applicant Express.
- If the envelope appears Blue then no action has been taken by the applicant.
- If the envelope appears Orange this means the applicant has signed the authorization form, but has not yet completed the application.
- Once the application has been completed by the applicant, their name will no longer appear in this list. Instead you will find them listed under Background Check Orders.
Expiration Date
- The right most column allow you to see if the credentials for your Applicant Express request have expired, or are about to expire.
- Application in Yellow will expire within the next 3 days. Applications in Red have expired and will need to be deleted and resent.
Applicant Express Actions
- Click on the name of the applicant to be given more options.
- You can choose to send a reminder request to the applicant, print the login instructions, or delete the request if it is no longer needed.
- Credentials are only valid for 2 weeks. Please delete the request and submit a new one if the credentials have expired.
Finding the Authorization Form
- If you would like to see a copy of the authorization form provided by the applicant, click their name in Background Check Orders.
- The document is found under Documents.
- You can also easily send the applicant an email from this screen as well.
